Distraction Day 2

2) Read Joe Posnanski's take on No. 73, Willie McCovey. I didn't really like the conceit of the article, the whole setup of this question, "Does fear matter?" as Poz seems to basically think it doesn't matter, and yet he then writes the whole article based on the idea that it does matter. He basically thinks it's immeasurable, but then he says it is measurable, he talks about McCovey's intentional walks record. So ... Willie McCovey.

1) Before I read about Willie McCovey (and that's why I put a #2 before JoePo ... to at least number them in the order in which I read them, even if I didn't list them that way) I read something on Grantland--about TV shows. I read about two TV shows, "The Good Wife" and "Scandal" which are both apparently really good. Article was written by Mark Harris, who I've never read before, but I liked his style and the article was easy to read. Apparently these two shows are both on network television but surprisingly good ... bla bla bla. Link to the article

3) Oh, okay: Three is all the time I spent with friends and family today! I saw my old friend Becca (now Ben!) and I saw my dad, and I saw my old friend Monica and her husband. So ... those were my distractions today.
